API's are standard methods for interfacing with other applications. They allow a program to talk to and leverage data and functionality between multiple programs.
The API (Application Program Interface) Manager is a tool that allows us to mediate API calls to campus systems. This mediation provides several benefits.
The API Manager infrastructure is owned by BYU but managed by the vendor. It currently runs on premises but will soon migrate out to Amazon Web Services for hosting.
