Extension Status Indicator is a phone feature that allows you to monitor the phone line of an extension on your speed dial to determine if that user is on a call. This service is designed to help phone users (e.g. departmental secretaries and others with similar responsibilities) monitor the lines of phone users in their speed dial contact list. In this sense, Extension Status Indicator acts as a line appearance. It also acts as a speed dial button that connects you to the monitored user’s number and as a call pickup button on behalf of the monitored user.
In short, Extension Status Indicator allows you to
1. View the state of a phone line that is associated with a speed dial button, call log, or directory listing on your phone.
2. Answer a ringing call for the line that you are monitoring.
To access this service, use the Modify link under the Order | Modify menu on the Campus Phone page.
