Please take a moment to review the instructions below for operating the new touch panel.

Note: The icons and cables are now color coded to assist in identification.

Optional Additional Connection (Table, Wall, or Portable Podium)
Touch an appropriate icon to display a device connected to VGA/HDMI cables located at a table, wall or special podium (color coded green).
Touch the Blank icon located on the Display tab. To un-blank the projector, touch the icon for the source you would like to display.
Select the device on the Display page and then touch the icon again when it is displayed in the center of the screen. This will open the Display Control Page.
Note: You may also touch the Device Control tab located at the top of the screen and then touch the device desired. This allows you to “queue up” a device prior to changing the display. Touch the Display tab to change the device that should be actively displaying.
Touch the Audio Only Button when first turning on the panel.
Or go to the Audio Control Panel and touch the Audio Only.
Choose Yes when asked if you want to turn the display(s) off.
This will allow you to listen to audio content while the display is off.
To turn the display back on, touch the red Turn Display On button. This button will not appear until the projector has rest which will take several minutes.
If the touch panel is asleep (blank), touch it to wake it up. Touch the Screen to operate the system.
If you are only using microphones and not the display system, wait for the system to come on and then select the Audio Only icon.
The Microphone Control page will open, which allows control of all available microphones.
Touch the Mic icon to mute a microphone; touch the now muted icon to unmute.
Use the volume slider or arrows to control volume levels.
Audio levels may be controlled on any page. Use the volume slider or arrows to control volume levels.
Touch the Volume icon to mute.
The icon will change to Mute. Touch the mute icon to un-mute.
To access the Surround Sound control page touch the Surround Sound icon on the Audio Control Page.
Note: A Power outlet portable devices is available on the left panel of the cabinet.
Laptop Computer with VGA Connection
Touch the VGA / Audio icon to use a laptop computer VGA connection after attaching the provided VGA and associated audio cables (color coded red) usually located inside the cabinet at the back of the TEC System. The VGA cable goes into a connection on your computer that looks like this:
The Audio cable goes into the headphone jack on your computer.
Laptop Computer or other device with Digital Output (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI)
Note: You will need a standard HDMI jack or cable to attach to this system. Contact your CSR for assistance in procuring an adapter, if necessary.
Touch HDMI Cable to display from a laptop computer, tablet or other HDMI enabled device after attaching the provided HDMI cable (color coded blue) , usually located inside the cabinet at the back of the TEC cabinet. The cable goes into a connection on your computer or device that looks like this:
If you have your own cable with a male connector that looks like this: plug it into the female HDMI Jack (color coded yellow) in the cabinet. Touch HDMI Jack on the main Display tab.
Analog Device with AV Connection (yellow, red and white composite cable)
Touch AV Jack to display from a VCR or other device connected to the AV composite jack.
For example: connecting a VCR to play a VHS tape.
Note: To schedule a portable VCR unit for your classroom, please call OIT at 801-422-4000.
Plug one end of the AV cable into the corresponding AV Jacks in the Cabinet (yellow connector is video, red and white are audio). Plug the other end the DVD/VCR Out jacks on the back of the VCR. You will need to control the VCR using buttons on the machine itself. The Device Control Page does not include control for portable devices.
