Network Information Tools (NIT) is a group of network information and management tools which locate all network devices on the campus network on an hourly basis. It allows users to search for a variety of data about the devices on the network and about the performance of the network. Users with privileges are also able to search for specific computers on campus by host name, IP address, MAC address, or phone number.
Access to NIT is limited to specific groups on campus. The primary users are network engineers, operations, help desk personnel, and CSRs. If an individual is assigned to any one of these groups within the BYU system database, also known as GRO groups, they have access to NIT.
The NIT is available at nit.byu.edu.
There is no charge for the use of this service.
