These are apps that can aggregate all common information into a single location. For example, any calendar can be integrated into the calendar app, allowing for many calendars in one location. The same is true for all the apps mentioned above.
The notifications engine is a web service used to distribute announcements or bulletins to campus or targeted groups on campus and is used by various technologies (AIM, My Financial Center, myBYU, RouteY). The announcement portlet in myBYU uses this engine. The notifications engine is web service based component that can be deployed onto any web page. To publish notifications, users must obtain administrator rights.

This service is obtainable through the SOA Registry. Users can request or discontinue administrator access by calling the product manager, Peter Sentz.
Policy: Requests for administrator access need to be made through the product manager. All notifications are required to be targeted communications to defined group on campus or on a subscription basis only. Campus wide communications must go through University Communications. All announcement accounts will be monitored on a regular basis.
