Employee Training (YTrain) is BYU's Learning Management System. It will not only house all of the online training that was once found at employeetraining.byu.edu, but it will also be the place you can register for live training with Human Resource Development. This will give you an opportunity to keep all of your training in one place. YTrain replaces the old Pointcaste system and will give campus users many more features and opportunities to receive training. This will also make it easier for supervisors to review the training their employees have taken.
Who can use Employee Training (YTrain)?
All employees of BYU are encouraged to use YTrain. This will include full and part-time staff and administrators as well as student employees. All students will also access YTrain to receive training on subjects such as lab safety for select classes.
Why should I access Employee Training (YTrain)?
There will be two main reasons to access YTrain. The first will be to take one of our many online training modules. These cover a number of subjects from planting flowers on campus to handling financial duties. The second reason will be to register for HRD workshops. Currently, you have gone to training.byu.edu to register for the workshops, but now the registration process will all take place through YTrain.
Support for this application is managed independently by the department of Human Resource Development (HRD). Jerry Bishop in HRD is the primary contact for application support at 801-422-5887. Support can also be directed to the HRD office at 801-422-5011.
Employee Training (YTrain) will be available to all employees and active students through ytrain.byu.edu and myBYU. When a student / employee leaves the University they will no longer have access to this service.
There is no charge for use of this service.
