Welcome to BYU's Office of Information Technology website, a place where you can browse information about our services, find service support, and order services. We offer this brief overview so you can successfully navigate the website and find what you're looking for.
The Service Catalog contains all the information pages and order forms for the entire website. The Catalog shows a complete list of the OIT services for which we have supportive documentation. It contains Content Items and Catalog Items.
Content Items are essentially information pages of OIT services. They contain general documentation on our services: what the service is, who can access it, how to access it, and other such information. They are found within the Service Catalog and do not have the word Form in the title.
A Catalog Item is an order form for a service listed within the website. All of our services have a Content Item (general information), but not all have an associated Catalog Item because not all our services need to be ordered. In Catalog Items you can view service prices and options and order the service directly from the website. These items contain the word Form in the title.
Help Center Articles contain a reservoir of support documentation for the services. Help Center Articles can be anything from setup guides to tutorial videos meant to help you better understand the services OIT provides. Many Content Items have links directly to these Help Center Articles.
When you are looking for specific information about a service, the best way to find related material is to go to the Help Center. All information on the website, whether it is found in a Catalog Item, Content Item, or Help Center Article, is searchable through the Help Center. Just type key words into the search bar, found within the blue header at the top of every page, to find related information.
If you have further questions about the services offered by the Office of Information Technology, you can call our Service Desk at 801-422-4000. The Service Desk is staffed by trained OIT personnel to help address technology questions. The Service Desk is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Thursday when it closes an hour early. For technology emergencies, you can call the Service Desk at any time by using ext. 0.
