Campus Television is available to all students with a current housing contract, and can be viewed on a computer web browser or mobile device.
Web browser: On a computer or Android mobile device: Go to http://tv.byu.edu and enter your BYU Net ID and BYU ID as credentials. The BYU ID is your 9-digit University identification with no hyphens or spaces.
iOS Devices: Install BYU Campus Television from the App Store. Open and enter your BYU Net ID and BYU ID as credentials. The BYU ID is your 9-digit University identification with no hyphens or spaces.
Content for Campus Television is provided by Beehive Broadband and is available in all campus buildings. It is not available off-campus.
Requirements for accessing Campus Television on a mobile device or web-browser:
The default view of tv.byu.edu has five tabs: Featured, Recordings, Now Showing, Browse and Search. Select (single-click) the tab to change the view.
The top corner of the Thumbnail will show if a program is “On Air” or the hour it will be.
To watch a Channel select (single-click) the thumbnail and select WATCH. Selecting watch will open the program in your browser tab in full view.
Find the recorded program in the Recordings tab or Featured tab. Select (single-click) the thumbnail will open a window. Selecting WATCH below the description will open the program in your browser tab in full view.
Hover over the top to view the Program/Time/Channel information
To exit Press the Esc Key on your keyboard or hover the top-right corner of the screen and select X.
Hover over the bottom to have the player control bar appear.
All recordings automatically expire after 1 week from recording date.
The white bar represents the total space available to record. The green portion of the bar represents the total storage occupied by recorded shows/movies.
Recording tab has four different tabs: Recent, Movies, TV shows and BEE Prime
Recent: Shows your recent recorded TV shows
Movies: Alphabetically lists recorded movies.
TV Shows: Alphabetically lists recorded TV Shows.
BEE Prime: TV Shows automatically recorded on ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC during Prime time that will automatically expire after one week
To make a recording select (single-click) the program thumbnail, which will open a window with the option to record or record series. (To find a program to record look in the Browse, Now Showing, Search and Featured tabs)
You can also record a show from the Now Showing tab below the channel preview.
To record the program at the time listed in the window select (single-click) RECORD below the description. The program is scheduled when the date is indicated and status states “Recording scheduled”.
If the program is recognized as a series, a RECORD SERIES button will be provided directly below the description. To record a Series select (single-click) RECORD SERIES and “Configure Series Recordings” will appear.
Select (single-click) SAVE CHANGES to schedule series recordings.
How to delete a recorded Program
Find the recorded program in the Recordings tab or Featured tab. Select (single-click) the thumbnail will open a window. To delete recorded program select (single-click) DELETE below the description.
A pop up window will ask you if you really want to delete the program, select OK to delete.
Now Showing tab shows what is currently on at the hour. The list on the right shows what the different channels are showing. Select (single-click) on a channel to view the program in the preview window. A program can be recorded from this view (see Recordings).
Browse tab has four tabs (Next 2 hours, Movies, Children and Sports) and three drop down search tabs (All Genres, All Channels and All Times.
Search by typing in the search bar and selecting (single-click) Search.
