Instead of testing in class, most university tests are administered in the Heber J. Grant Building, also known as the Testing Center. The Testing Center also holds Independent Study tests. Tests are checked out to students who take their tests in a large testing room or a small music room located upstairs where instrumental music plays (only available during Fall, Winter and finals). When students are finished they return their tests to the Testing Center employees who are trained to handle tests appropriately.
The Testing Center also administers a few national tests, specialized tests and other non-BYU exams given in a small designated testing center.
Note: During finals week of Fall and Winter semesters, all university religion finals are distributed in the Wilkinson Student Center in room 3220, and certain tests are given in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium.
The Testing Center has policies concerning cell phones, charges, information needed to check out tests, and other details that can be found at testing.byu.edu.
All information regarding giving and taking tests from the testing center can be found at testing.byu.edu.
