This service allows students to apply for Federal Financial Aid (also known as VIP), university scholarships and BYU short-term loans.
The Financial Aid Web site walks students through the processes of applying for BYU scholarships and loans, and federal grants and loans. Individual students's financial aid specific details are found at the My Financial Center page.
Included are several guides and tools to assist students. For example, under the major heading, "BYU Financial Aid, Step 1: Count the Cost" are step-by-step instructions on how to "Create a Budget". Also, under the heading "BYU Financial Aid, Step 2: Financial Opportunities and Options" there is a description of how much money students may be able to make with an on-campus job.
BYU Scholarship Application
BYU allocates a certain amount of money each year for scholarships. Students can apply and, based on various criteria, be considered for these scholarships. Students may fill out the Basic, Enhanced, or Comprehensive application. BYU suggests students fill out the Comprehensive application, which will result in their being considered for the greatest number of scholarships. Students may also check their application status. Students will receive an email notifying them when they have a new message in the Message Center of their Financial Center under myBYU. These Financial Center messages will contain information about their scholarship application status.
Go to financialaid.byu.edu, or log into myBYU from the BYU home page and select Financial Aid from the menus (The path is myBYU/Student/Financial/Financial Aid). This resource is also linked with the Financial Aid section of "My Financial Center" page in myBYU (The path is myBYU/School/My Financial Center).
To access the Scholarship Application sign into myBYU. Under the School heading, select Scholarship Application.
There is no charge for use of this service.
