Below are the OS-specific instructions explaining how to connect to the remote desktop gateway server, rdgw.byu.edu, for Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, and MacOS.
NOTE: rdgw.byu.edu is a Remote Desktop (RDP) Gateway Server and NOT a VPN. It allows access to Remote Desktop (RDP) from off-campus without the need to install or use the VPN client. To access other protocols, including VNC, you will need to use the VPN. VPN is available for full-time employees, part-time employees, and students that contact the IT service desk. For more information, visit the VPN FAQ. The RDP Gateway is available for all employees, faculty, and students. No additional registration or provisioning is required to use the gateway.
If you are enrolled in Duo, you will need to use it to access the gateway. As the gateway has no method for entering pin numbers, you will receive a push to your smartphone (if a smartphone is enrolled) or a phone call if you did not enroll with a smartphone. Unfortunately, no other methods are supported by the gateway.
