Where only 7-digits were required, such as 374-1234, you now need to dial the full 10-digit number, 801-374-1234. Calls made from campus to other campus extensions remain the same (e.g. 2-xxxx, 3-xxxx, 8-xxxx, etc.)
Local calls made from campus phones should NOT be preceded by a 1, whereas long distance calls still need to be. Dial 1-801-xxx-xxxx for calls outside the local calling area. This triggers our long distance service (Veracity) that will prompt you for your authorization code for billing purposes, and charges will be incurred, even if the call is local.
If you dial a long distance number without using a 1, you will reach a recording letting you know that the number could not be completed as dialed. Please dial again using 1 and then the area code and number.
Speed dials on your campus telephone need to include all 10 digits. Please update them accordingly.
