BYU has negotiated very favorable rates with an outside vendor, Veracity Communications, Inc., to provide long distance service for BYU. Overall, this agreement will bring savings of approximately 66% over present long distance rates. Veracity has also agreed to extend the same long distance rates the university receives (plus applicable taxes), to university faculty, employees, and students for their personal long distance calls. University personnel may establish a personal account with Veracity that will allow personal calls to be initiated from either campus or off-campus phones using a personal authorization code. Those calls will be billed to the employee directly on a monthly basis.
Students, Employees (Staff & Faculty) may set up Veracity accounts for personal use as can, BYU Wards and Stakes, building contractors and other vendors who need long distance service while on campus.

To make long distance calls from off campus, use the following Veracity access numbers:
Veracity has some access phone numbers for calls originating from foreign countries but because of the unique circumstances, callers are advised to obtain an AT&T calling card for use when Veracity's international access numbers do not work.
Note: There are no confirmation tones after entering authorization code. If you complete a call and want to make another, stay on the line and you will be prompted. You do not have to enter your code a second time.
You can disable existing personal long distance services by contacting Veracity Communications at (801) 379-3000 or (800) 370-1106. Refunds of existing balances can be discussed with them at that time.

By default Veracity Communications sets up personal long distance on a pre-payment basis. Customers can use different forms of payment (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Pay Pal).
