To sign in to Duo using a Duo Token (also called a Duo Authenticator):

  1. Make sure that you have already purchased and registered the Duo Token to your account (see KB0028939)
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Navigate to any BYU website (such as and click “Sign in”
  4. The BYU sign-in page should show up. Enter your Net ID and password.
  5. The Duo sign-in page should show up.
    • Note: If the sign-in page does not show up, it is either because you have not enrolled in Duo, or because you have selected Remember me for 30 days.
      • If you are not enrolled in Duo, but would like to be, visit and follow the instructions there.
      • If you have selected “Remember me for 30 days,” there is no need to sign in using a Duo token, since you won’t be asked to sign in with Duo at all.
  6. Click on “Enter a passcode”
    • Note: If “Enter a passcode” does not show up, you may need to change devices using the drop-down at the top of the window. If there is no drop-down, you most likely have not registered your Duo token to your account. Follow the instructions in KB0028939 to do so.
  7. On your Duo Token, push the blue button.
  8. A 6-digit number should appear on the screen of your Duo Token. Type it into the “Enter a Passcode” box.
  9. Push “Sign in” (or hit Enter on your keyboard)
